Subramanian is the Country Head for Thriveni & Lloyds Group in the DRC. A mechanical engineer by training, he has 28 years of experience leading mining operations, project execution, and business transformation across India, Indonesia, China, Mozambique, and the DRC.

Subramanian also heads Surya Mine SARL, overseeing a 30 KTPA copper ore hydrometallurgy process plant and ongoing exploration across 16 concessions in Likasi. Previously, he served as COO at PT Thriveni Indo Mining for the Satui Coal Project in Indonesia and led the development and operations of the 20 mtpa Pakri Barwadih Coal Mines in India.

His experience spans the full mining lifecycle, including greenfield and brownfield development, project planning, drilling and blasting, safety, quality management, and large-scale open-cast operations. He has managed operations with annual capacities of 70 million BCM of waste movement and 20 mtpa of commodity handling. Subramanian is also experienced in government relations, stakeholder management, regulatory approvals, partnership management, and social license to operate. He holds leadership training credentials from ISB Hyderabad and XLRI Jamshedpur.
