Shiraz began his career working in the spice trade and exporting timber, based out of Mombasa, Kenya. He subsequently moved to London, in the UK, in 1971 where he opened a wholesale cash and carry business that grew significantly. Ten years later, he moved to India where he began his pharmaceutical enterprise, under the brand of Shalina Resources, exporting generic medicines to Zaire, now the Democratic Republic of Congo.
In 2001, Shiraz acquired several mining concessions in the DRC, paving the way for Chemaf’s first processing facilities. Today, Shiraz is based in the DRC, where he spearheads Chemaf’s growth strategy.
