Expanding mining operations at Etoile to meet global green energy demands

etoil

The global battery revolution and transition to green energy continues to spur the demand for cobalt and copper. Chemaf is capitalising on these growth opportunities by expanding its mining and processing capacities.

The brownfield Etoile Phase II project will process the mixed and sulphide ore from the Etoile Mine. Chemaf has engaged the services of reputable Chinese engineering firm BGRIMM as its engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) partner for this project.

Due to be commissioned in Q3 2023, the Etoile II Project will extend the Life-of-Mine of Etoile up to nine years by upgrading the processing plant to treat sulphide and mixed ore. It represents an investment of approximately $160 million.
